Blues head to lowly Bedworth

Game 18/24.

Leiston head to Bedworth United tomorrow looking for their first win in five matches. It’s the first time the clubs have ever met in their history. Stuart Boardley will have captain Tom Bullard and goalkeeper Marcus Garnham back in the squad, but Robert Eagle and Dominic will miss the match with injury. Joe Jefford and Matt Rutterford however are unavailable. Results in recent weeks have meant the Blues have dropped to 10th in the league table.

Bedworth are currently bottom of the table, losing 14 of their 19 league games, conceding 46 goals in the process. Bedworth were founded in 1895, and play at ‘The Oval’. They are nicknamed ‘The Greenbacks’ and last season won promotion via the Northern Premier Division One South play-offs. After finishing 4th, they defeated Chasetown 2-1 in the semi-final before beating Stamford 2-1 after extra time in the play-off final. They have reached the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round five times and have also got to the FA Trophy 2nd Round Proper on five occasions.
