Leiston get a draw in their last home match of the campaign

The Blues drew 1-1 with play-off chasing Leamington in their last home game of the 2023/2024 season. The point kept the Blues in 12th place in the table.

After a slow first half in which 16 year old keeper Marcus Mehew was playing his first league game for the Blues, the young Blues keeper made three excellent saves to keep the game at 0-0. Leiston took the lead just before the hour mark through Albie Armin who smashed home a great strike from the edge of the area into goalkeeper Callum Hawkins top right hand corner. The lively Callum Stewart levelled though on 68 minutes after beating the offside trap before four minutes later, Mehew made another splendid save. Leiston fought hard to gain another point against a side who need a win next Saturday to secure a play-off place.
