Blues return to Portman Road

For the second successive season the Blues needed a stoppage time goal to defeat an Ipswich Town XI side in the Suffolk FA Premier Cup. On this occasion the win secured a return to Portman Road for the holders where they will face either Felixstowe & Walton United or Stowmarket Town on Wednesday, May 8th. The game was just two minutes from a penalty shootout before Harrison Bacon swept home after good work from Christy Finch. Skipper Tom Bullard had fired the Blues ahead after 14 minutes but they were punished for failing to take advantage of a host of chances as Tom Hughes equalised for Ipswich Town midway through the second half. But then in the second of four stoppage time minutes, Harrison Bacon scored to secure a sixth final appearance for the Blues.
