The Blues recorded a seventh League win from nine games after a comprehensive first home victory over Met Police at the sixth attempt. With a strong wind on their back the hosts took a 33 minute lead when Christy Finch nodded home his first League goal of the season from a Joe Francis cross. The visitors, who caused the hosts numerous problems first half, then conceded twice in the final minute of the half. Christy Finch pounced for his and the Blues second after Dimitar Mitiv denied Matt Blake and then the Blues leading scorer Matt Blake raced clear to confidently score. Just after the hour on loan Ipswich Town keeper Jacob Marsden made a terrific save to keep out an Elliott Charles penalty before Matt Blake completed the scoring, bravely heading home Jack Ainsley's cross.
