Defender Jake Hutchings departs Victory Road

The Blues can announce that defender Jake Hutchings has left Victory Road and looks set to join Merstham. Jake joined the Blues from Grays Athletic in October and swiftly settled into the squad and showed his talent from the outset with some dominant displays. Unfortunately changes to Jake's personal circumstances meant that the commute to Leiston from his new base had increased significantly and Jake felt the best option was to play closer to his home.

Manager Glenn Driver said the following on Jake's departure;

"Jake was a very good signing for the club and I was looking forward to seeing him progress in a Leiston shirt. He is young and hungry to progress and a very good ball player and defender. Both on and off the pitch Jake has been a very professional young man, always looking to listen and learn. I'm sure Jake will progress through the League's and I can certainly see him playing higher. Moving to Stevenage meant he was unable to make training and midweek fixtures. After numerous discussions we totally understand Jake's decision and wish him all the very best for the future."

All at Victory Road would like to thank Jake for his excellent efforts and wish him the very best of luck for the future.
