Blues sign Josh Hitter from Whitton United

The Blues have signed 20 year old Josh Hitter from Whitton United.

Josh was a schoolboy at Colchester United when he was released and joined Woodbridge Town. He was part of the team along with Harry Knights that reached the 2015-2016 FA Youth Cup 2nd Round. He helped Woodbridge beat Dagenham on penalties at Notcutts Park before the Woodpeckers went down to Millwall at The Den in Round 2. He joined Whitton United in 2017, helping them achieve promotion to the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division last season. He was made captain this season, making 77 appearances in total for Whitton, netting 7 goals. Thanks to Whitton for their co-operation in allowing the deal to proceed very smoothly.

Manager Stuart Boardley said of the signing: - ‘Josh has been on the radar sometime and fits what the club are looking for in terms of being young, ambitious and talented and we are delighted to have him on board’.

Everyone at Leiston FC hopes Josh enjoys his time at Victory Road.
