The Blues are delighted to announce that leading scorer Gareth Heath has extended his contract with the club for two years, taking his stay up until the end season 2016/17. Gareth joined the Blues from AFC Sudbury in the summer of 2010 and for all but one of these five years he has been leading scorer. A top performer from midfield his displays have been recognised by other club Managers, twice being named in the Ryman League team of the season. Gareth has notched an impressive 78 goals in 182 League appearances all mainly from midfield. Commenting on his extended deal Gareth said, "I am very pleased to sign for another two years. I’m very happy at Leiston, it’s a great club, and I am looking forward to help the club progress to where we want to be as a team and also as a club as a whole.

Manager Richard Wilkins commented "Gareth is a quality player who consistently performs week in week out and has that handy knack of not only creating, but scoring goals and is as physically fit as any player I have seen in Non League football. Yet another great signing for the club."

The club would like to wish Gareth continued success and hope both parties continue to enjoy a happy partnership.
