The Reserves finished their season in 9th place as they beat Cornard United 3-1 at Victory Road. Patrick Brothers came into the team at left back in his first game back from injury.

Early in the contest, James Gaffer intercepted a ball but Cornard won it back and Sean Bartlet fired over Charlie Beckwith's crossbar. Leiston were then awarded a penalty and Jourdan Kiwomya stepped up to place the ball into Matthew Grove's bottom left hand corner. Toby Groom attempted a lob as most of the play was being played in the middle of the pitch but the second goal came for Leiston in the 26th minute when Owen Hammond's strike was well kept out by Grove but Patrick Brothers was on hand to wrong foot the keeper and shoot into the net. In windy conditions, Cornard pulled a goal back vis the lively Lewis Blanchett and moments later Charlie Beckwith had to be on hand to save well from an away player.

For the majority of the second half play started to get very scrappy and chances were limited for both sides. Bartlet stroked wide of Beckwith's right hand post before a mistake by Josh Cheetham let in Blanchett who was denied by a good block by Beckwith and Sam Allen cleared his follow up off the line. Substitutes from both teams were made and play was held up for a while as a Cornard player went down injured. Leiston defended well for the rest of the game as the away side looked to equalise but Adam Blades did make the game safe in the 96th minute when he fired into the roof of the net past Grove after an excellent lobbed passed into the box by Owen Hammond.

It rounds off a decent season for the Reserves who also had a good wins cup competitions this season.
