Blues face Halesowen for the first time in their history

The Blues face Halesowen Town for the first ever meeting between the two clubs at Victory Road on Saturday. The West Midland club are currently sitting 9th in the league table on 13 points, one point behind Leiston and they have also played a game more.

'The Yeltz' were founded in 1873 and last year came 23rd (out of 24 teams) in the Northern Premier Division. They won the FA Vase in consecutive seasons in 1985 and 1986. In 1985 they beat Fleetwood Town 3-1 and in 1986 they defeated Southall 3-0. They have reached the FA Cup First Round on nine occasions, the last being in the 2004-2005 season when they lost 2-1 to Yeading. They have also reached the FA Trophy 3rd Round on three occasions, whilst their leading appearance maker is Paul Joinson who played 658 times for Halseowen, netting 368 times.

Leiston will welcome back Byron Lawrence into the squad after being injured since the Hastings United match in the FA Cup. Leiston start the day in 6th position, one point and one place off the play-off positions. The Reserves are also in action on Saturday when they travel to Downham Town in the Thurlow Nunn First Division (North).
