The Blues make a first ever trip to Long Eaton United this afternoon in their final game of the 2023/2024 campaign. A win will see Leiston finish 12th whilst they lowest Leiston can come is 13th.

A good performance against play-off chasing Leamington last weekend saw the side draw 1-1. 16 year old goalkeeper Marcus Mehew made his league debut and was named man of the match after making some great saves during the game.

The Blues beat Long Eaton United 4-1 back in Suffolk in January. Ross Crane (2), George Quantrell and Joe Marsden were all on target as Leiston comfortably beat the Nottinghamshire side on the night.

Long Eaton United have already been relegated, taking 19 points from their 39 league games to date.

Leiston have suffered an up and down campaign. In the cups, they behave recorded two penalty shoot out wins against Hornchurch and Lowestoft Town respectively (both teams were promoted from their divisions this season). The team has put a run together a few times but Chris Wigger and Darren Eadie have blended in some good players into the squad which will hopefully bode well for next season.
