Blues keeper Garnham joins Needham Market

Leiston goalkeeper Marcus Garnham has left the Blues and joined Needham Market on a one-year deal.

After signing for the Blues in the Summer of 2017, Garnham helped Leiston win the Suffolk Premier Cup in 2018 and 2019 respectively and also played a big part in securing them a play-off place last season. In his first season at Victory Road, the keeper missed just one match out of the 58 games Leiston played that season. In total, Garnham played 105 games for the Blues keeping 24 clean sheets and played 83 league games.

Garnham said earlier: - ‘I’d like to thank the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Committee in making myself welcome at Leiston. Also I’d like to thank the supporter’s, who voted myself as Supporters Player Of The Year last season. It was a sad end to the campaign but I’d like to wish everyone all the best for next season and hope Leiston do well under the guidance of Boards (Stuart Boardley) and Heady (David Head).’

Manager Stuart Boardley said: - ‘We thank Marcus for his efforts and we have lost a good goalkeeper and great personality. We wish him all the best in the future.’

Everyone at Leiston FC wishes Marcus all the best at Needham Market and for the rest of his football career.
