"We are a club not a team"

It’s not just about a first team at this club any longer

Meet the Manager
Open Meeting
LTAA, Victory Road
7.45 pm on Tuesday, March 14th
#we are a club not a team

It’s just a month since Manager Glenn Driver and Head Coach Tony Kinsella signed three and a half year contracts that will keep them at Leiston FC until the summer of 2020. The attractive, winning football that the first team has played for much of this season is part of the reason for the Club’s decision to offer them long-term deals. But more important is the conviction shared by Glenn, Tony, Chairman Andy Crisp and the rest of the Committee that if Leiston FC is to remain one of England’s top 200 clubs and have any chance of making further progress up the League ladder it must be more than just a first team. As Glenn said when the deal was announced “It’s not just about a first team at this club any longer. It is about Leiston Football Club as a whole and we need to develop our own youths through a system, something that has never really happened here.”
Whether you’re a past, present or potential future supporter of Leiston FC this meeting is your chance to find out more about Glenn and Tony’s plans for the next three years. Ask questions, provide feedback and offer your own views on where the club as a whole should be going. And although the focus is going to be on next season and beyond they’ll probably be happy to share a few thoughts on this year and the club’s chances of making the Ryman Premier play-offs for the first time.
At the meeting we’ll also be discussing where supporters fit in the “we are a club not a team” picture. If you’re a keen supporter what can you do to contribute to Leiston’s success over and above coming to our first team home games? A look at the many things off the pitch that have to be got right if the club is to flourish may give you some ideas.
