Blues complete loan signing of Ipswich Town keeper Jacob Marsden

The Blues have completed the loan signing of Ipswich Town goalkeeper Jacob Marsden. 20 year old Jacob, who recently signed a new two year contract at Portman Road, will come to Victory Road until January after the two clubs agreed a deal this week. Jacob has been involved with Ipswich Town for several years and is highly thought of at the Championship club. Ipswich Manager Mick McCarthy sanctioned the deal this week. The deal has come at the ideal time with Nick Eyre sidelined for several months, set for an operation on his injured shoulder, an injury he sustained in pre season.

Blues boss Glenn Driver (pictured with Jacob) said this on the loan signing, "I'm pleased to announce the signing of Ipswich Town keeper Jacob Marsden until January. With Nick (Eyre) needing an operation on his injured shoulder we have been able to sign a very good young professional keeper from Ipswich Town. After a meeting with Mick McCarthy it was agreed Jacob could sign until the New Year. Although it is disappointing to lose Nick I'm pleased to get Jacob here with us and he will prove to be a great addition and he goes straight into the squad for the Met Police game."

On behalf of Leiston Football Club we would like to thank Ipswich Town for all their assistance in completing the deal and we wish Jacob an enjoyable stay at Victory Road.
