STATEMENT FROM LEISTON FC RE TRANSFER OF SEB DUNBAR
Leiston FC and Stowmarket Town FC have today agreed the transfer of Seb Dunbar from Leiston to Stowmarket Town.
Having submitted a transfer request during the summer the Financial Board of Leiston FC reluctantly agreed to circulate his availability to clubs from Step 1 to Step 5 of the Non-League System.
Leiston accepted an offer from a Step 2 club but the player could not agree terms with them.
In total, Dunbar played 257 times for the club netting on 4 occasions. He first signed in 2012 but left in 2013 for Bury Town. He re-signed in 2014 and had been a Leiston player ever since. He has helped Leiston win the Suffolk Premier Cup in the last two seasons as well as helping Leiston finish in the play-offs in 2018.
Once the player knew of Stowmarket’s interest he made it clear to club officials that he would like to join Stowmarket, hence his absence from pre-season training and friendly matches.
Stowmarket Town have today met the valuation of the player as set by the Financial Board of Leiston FC.
Stowmarket Town were then given permission to speak to the player and both parties have subsequently agreed terms.
Seb wishes to thank the management, officials and supporters of Leiston FC for the time spent with the club and would like to wish them every success in the future.
