U18's 3 Hadleigh United U18's 1
Third successive win for the U18's
The youth team welcomed Hadleigh United U18's to Victory Road for yet another home league match last Thursday evening. Leiston were without brothers Guy and Adam Blades respectively. The Blues nearly got off to a great start when after just three minutes, a corner from Jac Garrard was well met by Toby Groom but his header went over the bar. Garrard would have another shot well handled by Colcomb in the away goal, and another good move saw Berry slip Garrard in but he was thwarted again by Colcomb. On 16 minutes, Leiston got the break through. A superb curling free kick by Jac Garrard saw the ball nestle into the left hand side of the net. Two minutes later, the hosts doubled their lead. This time, Garrard was the provider as his cross was well taken down by Joe Berry who guided a low shot past the outstretched arm of Colcomb. On 21 minutes, the game was virtually put to bed as Garrard crossed from the right flank that saw Lukas Darling pop up to head the ball into the keeper's left hand corner. Canham had a header wide from a corner, whilst Snowling saw his chance well wide of the target. Hadleigh were finding it hard to cope with the pressure at times, but were defending well in numbers. The last significant chance of the half for Leiston fell to Alfie Norman but his header flashed wide. A minute before the break Hadleigh had an effort but Longman saw his volley go just wide of Beckwith's goal.

Ben Snowling got forward down the left hand side to create a chance for Jac Garrard, but his right footed attempt curled just above the crossbar. Colcomb done well to punch away a dangerous Adam Chenery delivery, and then pushed Ben Snowling's effort round the post. Jac Garrard's set piece was high and wide, before Garrard yet again crossed for substitute Alfie Norman but his headed didn't test Colcomb. Three minutes from normal time, Hadleigh would score a consolation goal when Harry Croft got behind the Leiston defence to put past sub keeper Lewis Osborne. Leiston would look a little nervy in the final few moments but held out for a convincing win in the end.
