Leiston produced their best performance of pre season to date with a solid all round display at Conference North Lowestoft Town. The Blues were without the holidaying Danny Gay, Joe Jefford and Blake Saker. Both sides had early chances with Leiston keeper Alex Rossis flying save denying Jefferson Louis before a speedy counter saw Craig Parker fire wide. Leiston went ahead on 14 minutes with Cliff Akurang and Craig Parker combining and Parker's determination to keep possession allowed Joe Francis to fire home. Adam Smith then saw a well hit free kick rattle the Leiston post before the visitors doubled their lead early in the second half. Gareth Heath stroking home a penalty after Cliff Akurang was tripped in the box. The unfortunate Smith saw another free kick hit the woodwork before in the closing stages Lowestoft were awarded a penalty for a foul by Scott Mitchell on Jefferson Louis but the new Lowestoft striker was denied from the spot by a fine save to his right by Alex Rossis.
