Leiston 5-2 Colchester United XI
The Ryman Premier hosts went nap in the suffolk sunshine against a youthful and more than useful Colchester XI. Leiston went ahead after just 3 minutes when Michael Brothers excellent corner resulted in a headed own goal. The lively Smith sliced wide for the Essex side shortly afterwards, but made amends on 24 minutes side footing home the equaliser. On the half hour mark Leiston regained the lead as Gareth Heath danced around the keeper and fired home. Craig Parker then netted a quick fire brace before halftime, the first a fine glancing header, the second a deflected shot from 25 yards, to give the Blues a comfortable advantage going into the break. On the hour mark Michael Brothers lashed home number 5 from inside the area and with 10 minutes to go substitute Bone scored a well deserved consolation for the visitors and with last kick off the game Colchester hit the bar with a looping header. This excellent workout for Leiston brought the curtain down on their preseason schedule ahead of next Saturdays opener at Wingate & Finchley
