Phil Page's 15th minute goal separated these two sides, inflicting serious doubts to Leiston's play off hopes. Richard Wilkins side dropping to eighth after this defeat, four points off the play offs with four games remaining. Leiston arrived at Leatherhead for their very first visit with a very strong squad minus Leon Ottley-Gooch but including Seb Dunbar for his first start since re-joining from Bury Town. The visitors created plenty of half chances but lacked a cutting edge in the home box and the shut out was only their fourth away from home this season in the League. Leatherhead's opener was somewhat route one. Keeper Wells long clearance saw Jefford and Leiston keeper Gay hesitate with Page nipping in to slide the ball home. Dembele then skied a chance over the bar after skipping around Gay midway through the half. Hubble and Cunningham saw long range efforts saved by Wells as the visitors chased a response. Both Gay and Jefford were involved again on the hour mark after Jefford had tripped Nwokeji in the box but Gay made a fine save from the resulting spot kick, denying Page his second of the game. Leiston pressed hard as the game closed and Wells made a smart save to deny Sands before a fine tackle from Dembele denied Hubble as he looked set to score as the Tanners held on to record a League double over Leiston.
