The Blues head to Worcestershire this afternoon as they reach the conclusion of the league campaign. Redditch United sit in 6th place currently, just a point off the play-offs with three two weeks of the campaign to go.

Redditch beat Leiston back in November in Suffolk last year 1-0. Last season, goals from Will Davies and Finlay Barnes secured a 2-0 win at home but Redditch beat Leiston 3-1 in February 2023, with Ben Fowkes netting a late Blues consolation.

Leiston have had previous success at Redditch. Although going down 3-1 on the final day of the 2018/2019 campaign, with Christy Finch on target, Leiston won 6-0 in December 2019 thanks to a John Sands hat-trick, two goals from Jake Hutchings and a Byron Lawrence strike. In April 2022, Seb Dunbar scored Leiston’s winner as the Blues won 1-0.

The Blues host Leamington in their final home league game of the campaign next Saturday (20th April, 3pm kick off). The club will be collecting the final slips for supporters player of the year and will be holding a Quiz night after the game.

The Blues will have Ross Crane back after he missed the game Tuesday through suspension but will be without Adam Bailey-Dennis, who is unavailable this afternoon. Chris Casement comes back into the squad after missing the last three games.

Meanwhile, back in Suffolk, the Blues U23’s host FC Peterborough. The side have four league games remaining and three of these will be at Victory Road.

The U23’s remain fourth from bottom after not playing for nearly two weeks. An excellent 2-1 win at home to Framlingham Town on Easter Bank Holiday Monday saw the side score two goals via Ollie Griggs against promotion chasing Framlingham.

FC Peterborough are currently sitting in 14th place. In the reverse fixture back in November, Leiston U23’s beat today’s visitors 4-1. Charlie Atkin (2), Emille Dozzell and Eddie Jackson were all on the scoresheet that day.
