Leiston are still seeking their first win of 2016 after they missed the opportunity to return to the play off places as they were beaten by an inform Leatherhead side. The hosts did all the damage in the first half, stunning Richard Wilkins side by going into the interval three goals to the good. The visitors fell behind early, the experienced Frannie Collin, on loan from Maidstone United, long range effort finding the net after just six minutes. The lead was doubled on 31 minutes when Kieron Hughes-Mason fired home from eighteen yards after the visitors had lost possession on the right flank. A torrid first half for the visitors was completed three minutes later with Collin grabbing his second and the third goal from long range with the help of a wicked deflection off the unfortunate Joe Jefford. With a second half mountain to climb the visitors rallied and just after the hour mark Kelsey Trotter gave Leiston hope, firing home his first ever goal in the Ryman Premier Division from just inside the box after Joe Jefford's effort from a free kick was initially blocked. After the hosts had a goal disallowed Leiston skipper Tom Bullard added a second goal deep into stoppage time, meeting a Billy Clark free kick at the far post and heading home but the goal failed to spark a frantic finale that would have brought an unlikely equaliser.
