Worthing 1 Blues 1
Blues held on the South Coast
Matt Blake's seventh goal of the season cancelled out Worthing's early opener as the Blues were held on the South coast. Bottom club Worthing have been on an upward trend over the past few weeks suffering just one defeat in four and started confidently, seeing an effort strike the woodwork before deservedly taking the lead. Hallard converting from a tight angle after an initial shot from Colbran was well blocked but fell invitingly to Hallard to give the rejuvenated home side the advantage with just over a quarter of an hour played. Twenty minutes followed of a cagey affair with a handful of yellow cards before the Blues were level on 36 minutes when Matt Blake raced onto Christy Finch's pass to neatly convert. It could have been better for the visitors in first half stoppage time but for some good home defending aiding Covolan in the home goal.
The second half saw the Blues creating the better openings but left Blues boss Glenn Driver frustrated as they failed to turn their chances into goals. Home keeper Covolan made two fantastic pin point saves and then made a tremendous stop to deny Matt Blake a second goal when he looked certain to score late in the game. Worthing also had chances and early in the half Marcus Garnham did well to deny Rance. Both sides pushed for all the points but had to settle for a point a piece.
