Leiston head into Monday's Fourth Round Qualifying draw of the FA Cup for the first time in six years and will be Suffolk's Non League flag bearers after a scintillating last sixteen minutes at Bulpit Lane. Trailing National League South Hungerford Town and staring an exit from the FA Cup nobody would have envisaged what was to follow as Glenn Driver's side stunned their hosts with a four goal salvo. The Ryman Premier Division leaders started on the back foot and never really got into their fluid passing game as Hungerford bossed the opening forty five minutes. Time and again set pieces and crosses rained into the visitors box but the Suffolk side were defending stoutly if at times fortuitously. Leiston began the second half better than the opening half but were soon indebted to two saves from Jacob Marsden in denying Stefan Brown and Louie Soares. The pressure finally told as the breakthrough came on 62 minutes. Right back Rhys Tyler racing onto a Stefan Brown pass to fire beyond Jacob Marsden. To this point Leiston had offered little with just a Christy Finch effort saved by George Legg the closest they had came during their forays forward. But after the home goal Leiston clicked into gear and on 74 minutes they were level. Leading scorer Matt Blake reacted quickly to pounce on a weak Matt Day back header to beat George Legg in the home goal. Three minutes later Leiston were ahead. Matt Blake creating havoc down the right and his cross was placed into the path of substitute Tom Winter from Byron Lawrence who fired home. Suddenly Hungerford looked vulnerable as Leiston dictated for the first time in the game and two late goals eased their passage. Byron Lawrence fired home after George Legg could only parry Matt Blake's cross into the path of the Blues midfielder and then Man of the Match Matt Blake raced clear to round Legg to score his thirteenth goal in as many games to begin the celebrations for the visitors.
