Leiston welcomed Jack Ainsley and Christy Finch back into the starting line-up with Patrick Brothers suffering from a hamstring injury and Regan Pelling dropping to the bench.
Dorking Wanderers enjoyed the better of the opening stages and in the 13th minute Marcus Garnham made a fine save down to his left hand side from the ever dangerous Briggs. From the resulting corner the ball was flicked on at the near post to the unmarked Tolfrey who headed in from close range. This spurred Leiston into action and they dominated possession for the remainder of the half with Matt Blake and Byron Lawrence testing Pelling in the home goal. The best chance falling to Tom Bullard in the 39th minute when he won a 50/50 challenge on the edge of the area, but from 10 yards out he was unable to get sufficient power behind his shot and Pelling saved easily.
Leiston’s task was made harder in the 49th minute when McShane was allowed to run unchallenged before cutting inside to shoot. Marcus Garnham had it covered but the ball took a wicked deflection and ended up in the opposite corner. Leiston were unable to get into the game and it was no surprise when Dorking made it 3-0 in the 75th minute when Ray found himself with time and space in the area to lift the ball over Marcus Garnham. Leiston did manage to pull a goal back in the 79th minute with a rare foray into the Dorking half when Christy Finch finished a good move involving Jack Ainsley and Josh Cheetham. Any hopes of a late revival were extinguished three minutes later when Briggs skipped past a couple of weak challenges cut inside and shot. Marcus Garnham made a fine save but the ball rebounded to home forward Sole who despite the efforts of substitute Harry Knights, was able to head home. At the end manager Glen Driver was left exasperated by the poor second half showing as Leiston’s run without a win continued.
