Game forty two. Now we really are at the business end of the season. The Blues know that they really have to win every one of their remaining five games to put themselves anywhere near the end of season play offs. Even then, as other sides have games in hand, we would still need a helping hand along the way. No doubt there will be a host of twists and turns over the remaining 18 days of the season but we have certainly given ourselves something to aim for.

This is the twelfth meeting between the sides with the Blues winning four to Borough’s three with four draws. Here at Victory Road Harrow have won once back in August 2013 but the games are usually tight affairs with the exception of the last time the teams met back in December with the Blues winning 5-0 at Earlsmead Stadium. Harrow arrive in Suffolk after a 1-1 draw at Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday and they have enough points to have secured step three football for next season. The visitors come into the game on a decent run of form, suffering just one defeat in five and that was against leaders Billericay Town. It could be the last meeting between the sides in the Isthmian League for a while as we depart to a new League next season.

On Saturday the Blues were defeated at second placed Folkestone Invicta, a first defeat in nine League games. The Blues have also failed to score in their last two games which is strange for the side as they have only failed to score in six of their 49 matches prior to the latest two defeats. Having won three of our last four here at Victory Road the Blues will be looking for some more home comforts. At this stage last season we had accumulated 68 points so we are a point better off as we look to better last season’s points total of 73 points.
