Match Preview
The Blues take a break from League action as they make their debut in the Southern League Challenge Cup. After a positive start to the new season in a new Division, attentions turn to cup football this week starting with the visit of Cambridge City. Blues record in League Cup ties over the years has not been the best although they did reach the final of the Ridgeons (Eastern Counties) League Cup in 2009 but lost on penalties (4-2) to Stanway Rovers. The last couple of seasons have seen early departures from the Alan Turvey (Isthmian) League Cup so perhaps they will fare better on Tuesday night.

This will the first ever meeting between the two sides but the Blues have faced Cambridge City Reserves in their Eastern Counties League days, the first meeting being in November 2002 when the visitors won 2-1 at Victory Road in front of 127, Chris Wright the Blues scorer. Former National League South the Lilywhites, are currently twelfth in the EVO STIK Southern League Division One Central, a League below the Blues. They have won one of their four games to date with a draw and two defeats. On Saturday they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Didcot Town and this after an early James Hall opener. Like the Blues they are in FA Cup action on Saturday and they host Brightlingsea Regent.

Supporters are reminded that season tickets are not applicable on Tuesday night and cup matches are ALL PAY matches.
