Match Preview
Matchday 6 of 42. After a busy August that saw five League games we now enter September with just the three League fixtures planned starting this weekend with the visit of Redditch United. For the second successive Saturday the Blues face a side sitting one off the foot of the Division but as has been proven so far in this division, there will be no easy games whatever the clubs positions.

It’s a first ever visit to Leiston for Redditch United, another side in this Division who have competed at step two in the National League North. The Reds first gained promotion to the Conference North and step two in 2004 the same season the Blues gained promotion to step 5. Redditch spent seven seasons in the Conference set up before relegation back to the Southern Premier League in 2011. The closest they have come to returning was the end of the 2015/2016 season when they finished runners up to Poole Town but lost on penalties to Leamington in the Play Off Semi Finals. It’s a 360 mile round trip for the Reds this weekend as they look to build on just one win in five from the opening month of the season.

Victory Road is slowly becoming somewhat of a fortress for the Blues with the defeat on the last day of last season against Hendon the only defeat in ten outings on home soil.
Last time out our visitors suffered a Bank Holiday defeat at Alvechurch while we were held at Needham Market, the unbeaten League run against the Marketmen now stretching back to the 2009 season, over nine years.

Blues boss Glenn Driver has a full squad at his disposal this weekend.
