Penalty shoot out heartbreak for Blues

The Blues failed to reach their fifth Suffolk FA Premier Cup Final in 13 years as they suffered defeat via the lottery of a penalty shoot out. The sides could not be separated after 120 minutes so it all came down to spot kicks where Needham triumphed 4-2. The Blues were ahead at the interval via a Matt Blake goal but Needham drew level early in the second half after they were awarded two penalties in a minute. Jacob Marsden saved the first but following another infringement he was powerless to deny the leveller. Joe Jefford headed us back in front but goals from Ingram and Sands put Needham ahead before Matt Blake forced extra time. Jake Hutchings made it 4-3 in the first period of extra time but after Jack Ainsley was dismissed Sands scored a free kick to level tie. Needham then progressed to face holders Lowestoft Town in May's final.
