Reserves hit five

The Reserves gained another victory at the weekend and have moved up to sixth in the league table.

Leiston had the first chance after just three minutes when Alfie Norman crossed from the left hand side but Louie Bloom headed over the bar. Ben Snowling tried to intercept  goalkeeper Alexander Zasiura on the edge of the area but he recovered and cleared the ball to safety. After a Ben Snowling effort was well blocked, Alfie Norman shot over from the rebound. Amon Kulsirayi had the visitors first shot on target, but Charlie Beckwith was equal to his attempt. Almost immediately, Leiston went down the other end of the field, which saw Adam Blades blatantly fouled by Zasiura and the Referee Michael Jarvis had no other option than to point to the spot. Blake Saker took the penalty and calmly chipped it down the middle of the goal. Louie Bloom was then yellow carded with Lawrence Blythe for a scuffle which held the game up a few minutes. Ben Griggs had a header that hit the upright, but Leiston doubled their lead from a corner when after a couple of strikes on goal, the ball went in off an away player. Kulsirayi had the final chance of the first half for Norwich United but it came to nothing.

Just a few seconds into the second period, Louie Bloom saw his left foot shot palmed around the post for a corner. Substitute Jac Garrard made it 3-0 with a delicate finish past Zasiura to make the game safe with a good half an hour remaining. The impressive Louie Bloom had yet another good chance when he made good connection but Zasiura made a decent stop. From the resultant corner, Tom Mansfield fired wide after a couple of deflections in the penalty area. Norwich United did have an excellent chance to get back in the match when Amon Kulsirayi went through one on one with Charlie Beckwith but the young keeper stood up well and made a great save. George Diggens tried his luck from close to the halfway line but Charlie Beckwith palmed his shot over the crossbar. Will Oxbrow and Jac Garrard put half chances off target, but Adam Blades made it four, tapping in after a good move down the left flank. Three minutes later and Louie Bloom gave Leiston a nap hand when he turned the defender and placed well past Alexander Zasiura. In the end this was a convincing win against a young side.
