SO, the end of the season is upon us.
The Blues will have played 53 games after the Biggleswade clash this weekend. And you hear regularly about pro players playing too many games!
Well what about the part-timers who juggle full-time jobs and families on top of playing 53 games? And, there’s also training once possibly twice a week.
Sadly, despite a good effort Leiston failed to make the end-of-season play-offs and will finish just above mid-table.
That's a good return against some well-established clubs from huge towns. The players have certainly provided the Leiston public with some fantastic moments, roll on August for more.
Last Monday’s trip to the Lowestoft seaside was a bit of a disaster and I don’t mean the goalless stalemate.
I was looking forward to dipping my toe in the North Sea pre-match but Tik Tok forgot the armbands so we had to cancel that.
To be honest we’ve had a few disasters this season, what with car breakdowns, late trains, cancelled matches, speed traps, Tik Tok putting salt in my tea at Telford, then squirting a whole flipping bottle of Ketchup in my burger at Hitchin.
I’m looking forward to a rest over the next few months to recharge my old batteries.
Would we do it all again? You bet we would.
