Game 11/42.

The Blues head to Leicestershire tomorrow afternoon still searching for their first league win of the campaign. They did get their first win of the season on Wednesday night at Woodbridge Town in the Suffolk Premier Cup as they were 3-1 victors and booked their place in the quarter-finals. An early Rob Eagle goal and two goals from Rhys Henry helped put them into a three goal lead before Jake Rudge pulled a goal back for the ‘Woodpeckers’ late on. Manager Ian Cornforth has a full squad to choose from tomorrow afternoon with no injury worries.

Last season, Barwell came away with two victories against Leiston. In September 2018, Barwell won 1-0 in Suffolk before in the away match later in the season, Barwell came away comfortable 3-0 winners.

The hosts are currently in 16th position in the league standings and have lost their last three matches. They last won against Needham Market in mid September. After the weekend’s match, Leiston are at home to St Ives Town on Tuesday night and then welcome Hitchin Town to the Watson & Hillhouse Victory Road Stadium next Saturday.

Hinckley and Barwell Athletic merged in 1992 to become Barwell. After several successful seasons, they won promotion to Step 3 in 2011. In 2015, they reached the FA Cup First Round for the first time, where they lost 2-0 at home to Welling United.

Also tomorrow afternoon, the Reserves travel to Mulbarton Wanderers in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North. The Norfolk side are second in the table at present while the Reserves are 13th. On Tuesday night, the Reserves drew 3-3 with Norwich CBS before losing on penalties in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division KO Cup 2nd Round. Tom Leuenberger netted his first goal and Harrison Bacon scored two goals.

Finally, the ‘A’ team are away to Crane Sports Reserves in the Macron SIL Division 4. The ‘A’ side are unbeaten at the moment and are in second place while Crane Sports Reserves are in fifth place.
