Leiston Football Club are delighted to welcome back Ben Fowkes to the club. The striker has re-joined the Blues after ending last season at Isthmian League Division One North Felixstowe & Walton United after heading back to Suffolk from National North Peterborough Sports. Ben, who had a fine season with the Blues in the 2022/2023 season scoring 20 goals in 40 appearances, left the club at the end of that season, signing for National North Peterborough Sports. The popular striker has returned to sign a two year deal.
On re-joining Leiston, Ben said; “I am buzzing to be back for the club and I am looking forward to pre-season and being with the lads again. I want to help Leiston get back to winning games again and hopefully, regularly. It was an easy choice to sign after I made contact with the club and I can’t wait to get back to playing at the level Leiston are at.”
On speaking about his first time with the club, Fowkes went on to say; “I think early on in my time, I scored two goals at Hednesford Town in a 3-1 win in the league and also the 4-3 win at home to Alvechurch in the FA Trophy (Fowkes netting twice along with Joe Marsden) are the stand out games. Also, the trip to Rushall Olympic in December that season on a cold night that saw us win 2-0 stand out in the memory bank.”
Leiston Football Club is delighted to welcome Ben back to Leiston and hope he enjoys his second spell with us.
