The Blues head to Biggleswade Town tonight in the Pitching In Southern League Central Premier. Both sides have lost their opening league encounters so far this campaign, with the Blues currently bottom of the table while Biggleswade are second from bottom having gone down to St Ives Town and Bromsgrove Sporting so far, both by single goals. Last Tuesday evening, Leiston won 5-1 at home against Biggleswade in the Emirates FA Cup as four Will Davies strikes and an effort by Jamie Eaton-Collins helped them set up a tie at Leighton Town on Saturday. Will Davies was selected in the team of the round and also won player of the round in the First Round Qualifying.

Last season, Leiston lost 4-0 in Suffolk to ‘The Waders’ while the match at Biggleswade was never played due to the season being null and void. In the 2018-2019 season, the Blues won 3-0 in Suffolk in November 2018 with Jake Reed, Christy Finch and Matt Blake all on target while in March 2019, Leiston came from a goal behind to defeat Biggleswade 2-1 thanks to late goals by Rob Eagle and Will Davies.

Darren Eadie and Chris Wigger have no injury doubts for tonight’s match however Josh Hitter remains out through illness but Marcus Wilkinson comes back into the squad after missing the game at the weekend at Coalville Town.

Leiston Reserves host Framlingham Town this evening (7.45pm kick off). The Reserves are sitting in 7th place at present while Framlingham are in 10th position. A win for the Reserves could lift them up into 3rd place while Framlingham will leap frog the Reserves with a win of their own.
