Leiston moved into the play-off places after beating Spalding United 2-1 at the Watson & Hillhouse Stadium this afternoon.
On a dry but cold afternoon in Suffolk the Blues were two goals to the good by half time. Leading scorer Jamar Loza put Leiston ahead on 18 minutes after good work from George Quantrell and then the roles were reversed as George Quantrell swept home the second after Loza’s effort had rebounded off the post.
Spalding pulled a goal back on 57 minutes as Samuel Cartwright scored from close range inside the area. Adam Mills and Ismael Fatadjo both saw efforts strike the woodwork as Leiston claimed all the points.
Chris Wigger’s side extended their unbeaten run to eight games as they leapt into the play off places at the expense of Halesowen Town who were held at home by Alvechurch.
The Blues head to Shropshire next weekend to face second placed AFC Telford United, kick off 3pm.
