The Blues will head to the EMR Stadium, Chadfields, the home of Tilbury FC, in the First Round Qualifying of this season’s Emirates FA Cup to take on Grays Athletic FC.

The draw took place at FA Headquarters on Monday and Leiston’s tie was the 65th out of 112 drawn.

The tie will take place on Saturday, 5th September, with the winners receiving £2250 while the losers pick up £750.

Grays Athletic play in the Isthmian League Division One North and are currently in 12th position having won one and lost one of their league games so far. They defeated Hutton 2-1 on Saturday in the Preliminary Round of the completion.

Leiston have faced Grays Athletic previously in the FA Cup almost ten years to the day of the latest scheduled meeting. Back in 2016 goals from Jack Ainsley, Matt Blake, Gareth Heath and Byron Lawrence gave Glen Driver’s side a 4-1 victory at Victory Road and this after David Fallah had opened the scoring for the Essex side.
