The Blues U23’s moved up a place into 16th this evening after beating Swaffham Town 7-2 at home under the lights.
Away captain Joey Ellis put through his own net on ten minutes before Ollie Griggs (22 mins) and Marcel Kiwomya (25 mins) put the hosts in control.
Before the break, John Shannon made it four (41 mins) to kill off the game.
Bruno Brown pulled a goal back for the Norfolk club on 49 minutes but Kiwomya added a second just after the hour mark.
Neil Goodbourn reduced the deficit once more in the 70th minute but two goals in three minutes from Oscar Manly (84 mins) and sub Jack McLeavy (86 mins, his first goal for the club) secured a comfortable three points.
The U23’s are now five points above the bottom three with three league games to play. They host play-off chasing FC Peterborough on Saturday (3pm kick off) in their next game.
