Leiston defeated Henley Athletic 2-1 at the Flannery Stadium on Saturday afternoon to complete an early season ‘double.’
The win, Leiston’s fourth in six games, sees them move up to third in the SIL Premier Division table, two points off the top.
The game was goalless at half time, but in the second half Liam Shaw put the Blues ahead while Rajiv Forrester doubled the advantage shortly later.
Henley pulled a goal back immediately after the second goal but Neil Smye’s side held out.
Thanks to the Blues supporters who cheered the side on to victory this afternoon.
The Blues head to East Bergholt United next weekend (2.30pm kick off) in their next league game.
