Rajiv Forrester’s first goal for the club in second half secures a point for the Blues

Ten man Leiston drew 2-2 at home at the Flannery Stadium on Saturday, twice coming back from a goal behind against a Kirton Athletic side who started the afternoon top of the Suffolk & Ipswich League Premier Division.

Max Crane was sent off early on for the hosts and then Leiston lost leading scorer Ollie Long to injury all before the visitors took the lead.

Stan Horne levelled for Leiston only for Kirton to regain the lead before the half time whistle.

In the second half, 10 man Leiston fought back again and Rajiv Forrester scored his first Blues goal with the equaliser and that was the end of the scoring.

The result sees Neil Smye’s drop a place to tenth in the table while Kirton Athletic slip to third.

Next weekend, Leiston head to AFC Kesgrave in their next game, KO 2.30pm.
