Leiston Under 18’s progressed to the final of the Veo Suffolk Boys Midweek Under 18 Cup on Tuesday evening after a 4-0 win against Brantham Athletic at Debenham LC.

The side got off to a fantastic start after just three minutes, when Ollie Long half volleyed home Stan Horne’s cross from the Blues left.

Lee Harrison side, who were playing in all yellow on the night, made it two on 25 minutes when Long capitalised on a long ball to shoot home.

Just before the break, Stan Horne made it three after showing good play in the box.

In extremely windy conditions throughout the tie, the Blues made it four against the wind on 69 minutes when sub Liam Shaw threaded a ball through the middle and Long shot past the Brantham keeper.

Thanks to the Blues supporters who made the trip.

They will play Needham Market or Woodbridge Town in the final.

The sides next game is in two weeks time on Tuesday, 7th April, at home to AFC Sudbury.
