Penalty heartache for Blues as Felixstowe take the trophy

The Blues lost in a penalty shootout at Bloomfields tonight, the home of Needham Market FC, to Felixstowe & Walton United in the Endeavour Automotive Suffolk Premier Cup.

Sam Ford shot over from the penalty spot on 42 minutes for the ‘Seasiders’ before they took the lead on the hour mark after the break from a header.

On 78 minutes, they doubled their lead through Cameron Brown but Leiston fought back.

Cameron Rayworth headed home on 85 minutes before Billy Johnson scored a great leveller in the 92nd minute.

Wyatt Hill had his penalty saved in the shootout while Ben Fowkes, Seb Dunbar and Ryan Jarvis all scored. However, Eddie Jackson had to score for Leiston and shot over which meant that Felixstowe won the game and cup.

Thanks to the Blues who made the trip in good numbers, in front of an attendance of 813.

Leiston now head to the Midlands at the weekend to take on Stourbridge.
