Fine ale and a barbecue. What more could a Blue want?

Fine ale and a barbecue. What more could a Blue want?

A great end to the season at the Flannery Stadium

MUCH has been said about the number of promotion spots the National League is afforded.

Currently its two up with two down from the Football League. The National League is a very strong division with 14 of its current 24 team line up all former Football League clubs.

There has been a big push this season to change the current promotion arrangements to three sides and, as we head to the penultimate games of the season, the noise for an additional promotion spot is increasing.

This weekend top of the table York City head to second -laced Rochdale needing a point for the title and promotion. Rochdale need a win for the title and promotion. Both clubs have collected more than 100 points, York two points better off with 107.

What a finale.

These two sides are clearly very strong sides and former EFL clubs. In my opinion they both deserve promotion, let’s hope the authorities agree moving forward.

SO near yet so far, a funny old statement but true when we reflect on Leiston’s play-off aspirations which sadly fell just short for this season.

But haven’t we had some fun?

Train journeys, road journeys and overnight stays all over the place following the mighty Blues.

Tick Tock is hoping he can get himself a railcard and bus card in an attempt to avoid all the roadworks which I think will be with us for some time. I told him he will have to pay for them. Not sure why he thinks he will get them for free.

Last Saturday a bumper crowd witnessed a determined Leiston fight back, how many late, late goals is that now? It certainly keeps us on our toes.

Fine ale, barbecue and an unbeaten end to the home campaign and all in the glorious Suffolk sunshine, what more could we have asked for.

Roll on next season.
