BLUES Under 18's Manager Lee Harrison, pictured above, is looking forward to Tuesday night's County Cup tie at Debenham LC, when his side face Brantham Athletic in the Veo Boys Under 18 (Suffolk) Midweek Cup Semi Final (7.45pm kick off).

Leiston have won all their ties in the competition away from home, 3-1 at Hadleigh United, 4-2 at Walsham Le Willows and 3-1 at Bury Town to reach the last four of this year’s competition, and now Harrison wants to take it even one step further.

“The games so far have all been tough fixtures, we’ve had to make sure that we’re good in both box’s while being positive in the high moments and resilient in the low ones," he said.

"The quarter final at Bury we were dominant, we asked the boys to go out and put on an impressive display and they did exactly that.”

Leiston’s route to the last four has been tough, with every game being away from home.

Meanwhile, Brantham Athletic have beaten Waveney 2-0 away from home and Stowmarket Town 2-1 at home to reach this stage after receiving a Bye in Round One.

Harrison added: “We’re really looking forward to the game, it’s obviously a big one and one that we haven’t been involved in as a club for a few years now. We don’t know loads about them but as long as take care of the controllables, then we’ll do our best at getting to the final.

“It’s a really good experience for us as coaches, I was lucky enough to play in a county cup final last year and they’re special days, the semi-finals are always exciting too!"

After Tuesday nights game, the Blues have five games in the league to complete still, with the team currently 4th.

Brantham Athletic are 4th in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League South Division, winning nine and losing three of their games to date.

The winners of Tuesday night’s semi-final will play either Needham Market or Woodbridge Town in the final.
