Head coach Norfolk heaps praise on attacking unit after Redditch win

Blues head to Stamford next after moving up to seventh

BLUES head coach, Lee Norfolk, heaped praise on the side after the hard-earned 1-0 victory over Redditch United at the weekend.

And he's reserved special praise for Leiston's attackers, who not only got forward as often as they could, and netted the winning goal, but defended from the front stoutly, with the Blues down to 10 men for almost 80 minutes of the game.

Norfolk said: "When you are down a man and you ask your attacking players to sacrifice a big part of their game to do a disciplined defensive job for long periods, they do it without objection, have the desire to get forward during rare moments of attack, and are coming off with pitch with nothing left in the tank, you know you are in a good place."

Leiston moved up to seventh in the Southern League Premier Division table after their win on Saturday.

They now head to Stamford on Saturday, where a supporters' coach is running and there are still a few places left should you wish to go. Further details from Andy Crisp on 07769 904555.
