NEIL Smye’s Under 23's will be at home to fellow Thurlow Nunn League Division One North Long Melford in this campaign’s Suffolk Senior Cup in the only tie of the First Round.

The tie will be played at the beginning of September with the winners hosting Sporting 87 in the Second Round.

The last time a Leiston side faced Long Melford in the Suffolk FA Senior Cup was in the 2003/2004 season when Long Melford defeated Leiston in the Semi Final at Woodbridge Town.

The Blues second string have reached the final of the competition twice in the last four seasons, losing to Ipswich Wanderers (1-0) at Colchester United FC in May 2022 and also to Trimley Red Devils (2-0) at Ipswich Town FC.

Trimley Red Devils are the holders of the competition after winning the Suffolk Senior Cup for a second season in a row last time out. They travel to Halesworth Town in round two.
