Game 17/42.
Leiston host Banbury United this weekend in further league action trying to claw their way out of the relegation zone. Blues manager Glen Driver is hoping to have Noel Aitkens back fit as Harry Knights returns from suspension. George Keys, however, starts the second match of his four game suspension. New loan strikers Andy Fennell and Nathan Stewart will be available for the match.
Glen Driver said on Friday afternoon: - ‘I’m looking forward to Saturdays match and our two new strikers will go into the squad. We need our strikers to get goals. We played some good stuff Tuesday but never looked a goal threat so to have some new strikers in is pleasing. We will be hoping to add two or three new players next week and we need to go on a run now to get the supporters behind us. Staying up is so important’.
Banbury United currently sit in 3rd place, accumulating 27 points from 16 games.
Banbury United are based in Oxfordshire, were formed in 1931 and turned professional after the Second World War.
The Reserves match at Framlingham Town has been called off in the league while the ‘A’ side host Tacket Street BBOB Reserves at Alde Valley Academy in a 2pm kick off. Yes
