The Blues host Needham Market in the Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup tomorrow night as Leiston look to win the competition for the third season in a row. Needham were the last side to beat Leiston in the competition in the semi-finals in March 2017 when the ‘Marketmen’ won on penalties after the match finished 4-4 after extra time. Since then, Leiston have won the 2018 Suffolk Premier Cup, defeating Bury Town 3-0 in the final thanks to goals from Jake Reed and a brace from Christy Finch. Last season, a Matt Blake hat-trick helped the Blues to a 3-2 win over Felixstowe & Walton United at Portman Road once again.
The last time Leiston didn’t feature in the semi-finals of the competition came in the 2011 Suffolk Premier Cup, with Leiston went out at home to Lowestoft Town on that occasion.

Glen Driver has no fresh injury concerns for the match but Kyle Hammond is still unavailable. Leiston beat Woodbridge Town in the last round at Notcutts Park. Rhys Henry struck twice while Rob Eagle netted an early penalty as the Blues won 3-1. Needham have defeated an Ipswich Town XI and Haverhill Rovers to get to this stage of the competition.
