Last weekend’s 5-1 defeat to Ware was the Blues 69th match in their history in the the FA Cup. They first played in the competition in the 1945-46 season, just after World War II had ended and reached the 4th Qualifying Round. They played every year until the 1958-59 season and didn’t return until 2004. In total, they have scored 146 goals and conceded 164 goals in the 69 matches they have played. They also recieved a BYE in their first two seasons of the competition. They played 9 matches in the 2008-2009 FA Cup whilst they reached the First Round Proper, the most ever in a single season for the club. Two seasons later, they came close to reaching Round 1 again but lost 3-2 to Dartford in a 4th Qualifying Round Replay.
