Ryan Honeyman parts company with the Blues.

'Thank you to all the players past and present'
- Ryan Honeyman

Leiston reserve team boss Ryan Honeyman has left the Blues.

Ryan joined the club in the summer of 2020, and the reserves began well that season.

A 2-1 win on the opening day of the season at home to Diss Town saw Harrison Bacon and Josh Hitter on target.

Indeed, the reserves won seven of their opening 10 league matches, and were in sixth place in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North, before the season was null and void due to Covid.

Last season, Ryan led the side to the Suffolk Senior Cup final as the team beat Kirkley & Pakefield reserves, Bildeston Rangers, Beccles Town and East Bergholt United before losing 1-0 to Ipswich Wanderers in the final.

The reserves finished a respectable 9th place last season in the league.

Ryan has helped the side to win 22 points from 23 league matches this season, with the team in 16th place at present.

Speaking earlier today Ryan said: "I have stepped down as Leiston reserves manager. Thank you to all the staff for the support over the last 3 years. Thank you to all the players past and present. I wish everyone at Leiston all the best for the future. Thank you for the memories."

Leiston chairman Andy Crisp said: "I would like to put on record our sincere thanks to Ryan for all his hard work since taking over the role as reserve team manager.

"Ryan is very much a winner and I'm sure he will move on to a first team management role in due course. On behalf of everyone at Leiston FC we wish Ryan every success for the future."
