Leiston were beaten 3-1 at Bloomfields on Thursday evening against Needham Market in their opening Thurlow NunnnYouth League Central Division fixture.

Lee Harrison’s team went behind to an early goal but equalised on the half hour mark through Ashton Rayworth after good play by Blues captain Hano Hawar.

But Needham re-took the lead just before the interval and scored an early second half goal to make it difficult for Leiston.

The side now looks forward to their first home game of the season on Tuesday when Ipswich Wanderers visit the Flannery Stadium, KO 7.45pm.
