I KNOW we all love non-league first and foremost, but we also love a bit of professional football.
This would also mean that most footy fans don’t like blank weekends in the Premier League and Championship due to international breaks.
No wonder the players are burned out when they have unnecessary ‘friendlies’ and not one, but two, in the space of a few days for their countries.
They’ll call it ‘squad bonding’ ahead of the World Cup, Stateside, but do we really believe current England boss Thomas Tuchel hasn’t already got his side pretty well picked for that opener with Croatia on June 17th?
Why not just play a midweek friendly and keep the Premier League fixtures intact?

IF you haven’t seen the film, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, you have missed out.
And the fact Leiston introduced a ‘golden ticket’ in the matchday programme against Banbury recently, added not only to Non-League Day, but gave wonderful memories of those of us who have seen it.
Well, I can tell you that both me and Tick Tock did not feel like Charlie Bucket (watch the film) as we failed to get one of the coveted golden tickets in said matchday programme.
That meant we were walking around the ground with our heads down to see if anyone had dropped one out of their programme, so much so we nearly missed the only goal.
Sticking with the matchday programme, and there was a piece in the match preview about a certain web page predicting a 1-0 home win in the match against Banbury.
I better start following this computer as it’s picked up the last two correct home results and both 1-0.
