WITH a host of local games in the non-league world undone by the weather this week, at least we had the luxury of plenty of football on the TV to while away the time – assuming you have various streaming services of course.
The Premier League was shown over three nights while the Championship was on another satellite channel.
Now, I appreciate there are lots of people who can’t afford to view the footy outside terrestrial TV, but I wonder how long it will be before all the games are shown at the prime time 3pm slot on satellite channels here in the UK?
Well, I say prime time 3pm, but nowadays we are seeing the same number, if not more games on a Sunday rather than a Saturday, and not at the regular 3pm slot either. It’s great having so much football available from your armchair but you can’t beat watching the great game live!

I THINK it is fair to say Barwell will be glad to see the back of Leiston this season.
Back in October, Ronnie Blois denied them all three points with a 94th-minute equaliser, and then last Saturday Willie Clemons’ 95th-minute goal denied them a point. Oh, how we cheered. Tick Tock slipped over in all the excitement and banged his thumb. But it was still a perfect away day.
Indeed, Tick Tock and I made a little detour en-route to sample some pork pies in Melton Mowbray. Luckily there was a market on, so we got to sample some great big pies saving some for the journey home.
Did you know the jelly inside is to stop the pork meat from drying? Well, you do now!
Talking of drying, it was another wet afternoon watching the Blues, but we didn’t get as wet as the other week at Bury. It’s always worth it with a win though. Tick Tock even bought a Barwell scarf after the game he so wanted to remember the day.
He wasn’t so happy Sunday lunchtime though when I saw him in the pub as we supped our beers and reminisced on our three points. He has now decided it was as waste of money! He’s so impulsive.
So, its Valentine’s Day this weekend, let’s hope the Blues don’t see any cards during the game, we’ve had one or two too many this season.
The home faithful could do with seeing a win as well, after a host of draws. Three points please.
